The young fire at El Portal, just outside
Yosemite National Park. That's the Merced River
with the reflection. The fire was
allegedly arson caused.
The area had been burned within the last
10 years, so the fire didn't accelerate too quickly.
At one point there were 2 spotter planes,
a tanker, a helicopter with a bucket, and some
250 firefighters on the ground.
Suppression indeed.

The fire burned through the night...
And knocked down the power lines, cutting
off power to some of El Portal.
