Pictures from June 2002 Grand Canyon Raft Trip

The Little Colorado at its confluence with the main Colorado.  The water is an astonishing turquoise, and flows from springs a few miles upriver.

At the Little Colorado we were in the company of no fewer than 8 motor rigs (people and motor rigs not shown).  We estimated we shared this place with about 150 other people.  It was a zoo.  This is wilderness?  It's like being at a nice quiet diner and having a busload of high school band kids get dropped off.   The motor rigs do a "greatest hits" version of a Colorado River trip, hitting a nice spot and then motoring quickly down to the next.  There were several places where we were overrun with motor crowds.

Whooo!   The water is warm and pleasant.
