A "small" grand canyon rapid.  The picture tends to flatten the size of the waves.  This would be big water on any other river, but in the Grand Canyon it is considered trivial.

Whooo!   The water is warm and pleasant.    Ooops, that's the caption from the previous page.  The water is not warm and pleasant here.  This is Hance rapid, from the scout.  A big boulder garden with huge holes in the lower right part of the rapids (upper left in the picture).  Again, the picture flattens the size and scope.
