Pictures from May 2002 Labyrinth/Stillwater River Trip
Glyph near river.
Little-visited glyph from a panel we stumbled on high in The Maze.
Our best guess is that this is a bear representation. Not the lack
of horns/antlers and the many-toed feet. Feet with two toes (hooves)
usually specify prey animals. Many toes usually specify predator
animals.
Wayne climbing "moki steps" or a foot-and-hand trail in The Maze.
Indentations are chipped into the sandstone to climb short sections of
steep sandstone. Many such trails were created a thousand or more
years ago and have been used ever since. These steps looked ancient.
A pretty arch on the rim of The Maze. It could be toy sized,
or it could be a hundred feet across. Such abstractions are the namesake
of The Maze.
Gail got an ammo can for this river trip and painted it up right.
Artistic credit goes to Wayne and myself. Screenplay by Gail.
